Will Mexico and _____ resume diplomatic relations in 2026?
Market Rules
This event predicts whether Mexico and any of the listed countries will officially resume diplomatic relations on or before December 31, 2026, 23:59:59 UTC-5. For the purposes of this event, resuming diplomatic relations means a formal public announcement by either government that relations are re-established, such as an official communiqué, joint statement, or diplomatic note, or clear official action reopening embassies and/or appointing accredited chiefs of mission (chargé d’affaires or ambassador). Limited consular services or working-level contacts do not qualify.
The Primary Designated Source (PDS) is official communications from Mexico’s Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE) or the listed country's equivalent authority, including press releases, official communiqués, or published diplomatic notes. If the PDS is unavailable or ambiguous, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will be consistent reporting by reliable news outlets selected at Futuur’s discretion confirming a formal resumption as defined above. These markets will be resolved according to the substantive outcome—a formal resumption of diplomatic relations—and not minor technicalities of timing or formatting. If no fair determination is possible, Futuur may cancel the markets with a public explanation.
